  • Assistant Coaches (Max of three per team identified at the beginning of the season)
  • Dug Out Parent (Limit 1 per team identified at the beginning of the season)

  • Team, League, and Fundraiser Sponsors

Parents please note that scorekeeping, Gamechanger app, walkup music, etc while are appreciated are NOT approved volunteer hours - you are still responsible for (3) shifts of approved volunteer shifts to have your $250 volunteer check waived.

*All other volunteer events must be authorized by a Board Member. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the volunteer fee refund.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Multiple players in the league? Please sign up for 3 shift per family, unless fully exempt as noted above.
  2. Coaching for one team and have other players at a different level? You are considered fully exempt.
  3. Does it matter which concession stand or event that I sign up for? No. You can sign up for any shift or other events that are listed to volunteer.
  4. How long are shifts? Volunteer shifts are generally 2 to 2.5 hours. Other volunteer shifts may be different but should not exceed 3 hours. There is no overlap from one shift to the next, so please be on time! As with other volunteering events the time allocation is listed on the event sign-up.
  5. Can I opt-out of my shift requirement? No, at this time there is no opt-out option.
  6. What happens if I don't show up for my shift? We understand that things come up and schedules change, so if you are unable to make it to the shift you signed up for, please remove your name from the sign-up at least 48 hours in advance. If you do not show up for your scheduled shift, your SBA account will be assessed a $25 fine. This charge will be on your account and must be paid prior to any future registrations. You will still need to complete a shift before the end of the season.
  7. What happens if I don't complete my shift? If you do not complete a required shift for your player, your SBA account will be assessed a $25 fine. This charge will be on your account and must be paid prior to any future registrations.
  8. Shifts filled up fast - will more be added? More shifts may be added for Opening Day, Tournament or Post-Season tournaments taking place in June and some dates in July. The league will be notified when that happens and schedules will be revised.
  9. Can my child work a shift? Anyone 16 and older can fulfill a shift requirement. No children under 16 are allowed in any of the concession stands due to safety reasons.
  10. What if my shift is rained out? You will be notified by an SBA Official if you do not need to report for your scheduled shift due to weather or field conditions. Communications will be sent to the email account you used to sign-up for a shift.
  11. Can my child's coach waive my volunteer hours? No. Any volunteer hours that are to be waived for ANY reason, you will need to obtain a volunteer hour waive form, and have it signed by a board member, and submitted to SBA. No coaches can waive volunteer hours, period. Without the completed form turned in, you will still be responsible for your hours. No exceptions will be made on this issue.
  12. Is playing walk up music or keeping score considered volunteer hours? No, Although we are sure that the players and coaches appreciate you doing this, this is not approved as volunteer hours. You will still be responsible for completing your volunteer hours.
