Spring 2022 Volunteer Signups Posted

Good Evening-

We've now posted all open volunteer spots through the end of the normal season. Please remember each family is required to complete 3 volunteer shifts unless you are a registered Head Coach or Assistant Coach. Sign-ups can be found at www.sandwichbaseball.com and then clicking on the button "Volunteer Sign-Up" The sign-up system will remind you of your shift 3 days prior and then 1 hour before. If spots go unfilled the system will start 1 week prior to texting parents that still need to sign up that there are spots open

If you have not yet turned in your volunteer check please do so by giving it to a Board Member or mailing it to PO Box 358 Sandwich IL 60548. Players that have not turned in a check will not receive a uniform.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Multiple players in the league? Please sign up for 3 shifts per family, unless fully exempt as noted.
  2. How old do you have to be to volunteer? All volunteers MUST be 16 years of age or older.
  3. Coaching for one team and have other players? You are considered fully exempt.
  4. Does it matter which concession stand or event that I sign up for? No. You can sign up for any shift or other events that are listed to volunteer.
  5. How long are shifts? Volunteer shifts are generally 2 to 2.5 hours. Other volunteer shifts may be different but should not exceed 3 hours. There is no overlap from one shift to the next, so please be on time! As with other volunteering events the time allocation is listed on the event sign-up.
  6. Can I opt-out of my shift requirement? No, at this time there is no opt-out option.
  7. What happens if I don't show up for my shift? We understand that things come up and schedules change, so if you are unable to make it to the shift you signed up for, please remove your name from the sign-up at least 48 hours in advance. If you do not show up for your scheduled shift, your SBA account will be assessed a $25 fine. This charge will be on your account and must be paid prior to any future registrations. You will still need to complete a shift before the end of the season.
  8. What happens if I don't complete my shift? If you do not complete a required shift for your player, your SBA account will be assessed a $25 fine. This charge will be on your account and must be paid prior to any future registrations.
  9. Shifts filled up fast - will more be added? More shifts may be added for Opening Day, Tournament or Post-Season tournaments taking place in June and some dates in July. The league will be notified when that happens and schedules will be revised.
  10. Can my child work a shift? Anyone 16 and older can fulfill a shift requirement. No children under 16 are allowed in any of the concession stands due to safety reasons.
  11. What if my shift is rained out? You will be notified by an SBA Official if you do not need to report for your scheduled shift due to weather or field conditions. Communications will be sent to the email account you used to sign-up for a shift. A rained out shift does not count and will need to be rescheduled.
